Teacher facilitates a discussion on brand name and
store brand products and generic grocery and drug
items.
Students are given ten items for which a coupon or
rebate is available and asked to find the brand name
and a store or generic equivalent price.
Students chart and compare the prices for each item
with and without coupons/rebates
Class discusses advantages and disadvantages, preferences
and other factors that may override the purchase of
a lower priced item.
