Students work in groups to develop a chapter for
a math textbook that will teach other students how
to do a specific mathematical skill (a particular
standard). Students must come up with a list of prerequisite
skills necessary for learning the new skill. They
must explain, define, demonstrate and assess the new
skill. Therefore, they will be writing explanations,
problems, quizzes and answers. After a chapter is
completed, it may be distributed to other groups for
feedback and can be used as a real teaching tool for
students who have yet to learn the researched skill.
