Dimensions of a house; information from professional carpet
installer |
| Procedure: |
- Given the dimensions of several rooms to be carpeted
the students will calculate the square footage and
square yardage for each room.
- Given the dimensions of a house and a strategy
for calculating required carpet from a professional
carpet mechanic, students in groups will calculate
how much carpet is needed.
- Given the dimensions of a house, students will
select the type of carpet desired and compare costs
and quality between three suppliers.
- Given the dimensions of a house and the description
of time and material required from a professional
carpet installer, students will calculate the cost
for labor, materials, supplies, and profit, to carpet
the house with a specified type of carpet.
