- Students discuss important decisions that they have
made in their life. Students identify the values that
were reflected in those decisions.
- Students define a critical decision and analyze the
personal, social, community, religious or other values
that may influence the choices made. Students generate
examples of decisions where these factors may differ resulting
in different choices being made.
- The teacher reviews a five step problem solving method
with students: 1) define the problem; 2) generate solutions;
3) choose the best solution that fits your values and
beliefs; 4) implement the solution; 5) evaluate and revise
or follow up as needed. Students apply the strategy to
a variety of situations that they generate.
- Write an essay describing a problem they have addressed,
their approach to its solution, and the result.
