Packages -- Covering a CubeInstruction Sheet Some boxes are shaped like cubes. A cube is a three-dimensional shape with six identical square faces. In this activity you will make flat patterns that can be folded to form boxes. Your teacher will demonstrate the t-pattern as an example for you. It is your job to find as many different flat patterns as you can that will fold into a box shaped like a unit cube. There are eleven known shapes that can be folded into a cube. Your flat patterns must be able to be cut out and folded to form a cube, therefore edges must touch edges. It is not legal for cube sides to connect only at a vertex, or corner.
